Sentimental Farms one of nine locations visitors can tour this weekend
Rob Croley knows precisely where most of his food comes from, his own back yard.
“We do a ton of preserving. We had fresh salad for our new year dinner,” the Grimsby resident said.
He and his wife Chris own Sentimental Farm, one of nine stops at this weekend’s Doors Open Grimsby. Since 2002 the couple have steadily increased their own food self-sufficiency. They now grow or raise nearly 70 per cent of the food they eat each year. And it all happens on a small, half-acre plot of land on Ridge Road.
