Skate with Nate Sunday
Six years after strangers helped save her son’s life Amy Lupton and the family of the Grimsby boy are continuing to give back.
In what has become an annual event since Nate Lupton’s December 2010 bone marrow transplant to treat Wiskott Aldrich syndrome, the family will once again be hosting Skate with Nate this Sunday at the Peach King Centre. The skating party is open to the public, with the Lupton family only asking for visitors to bring a new unwrapped toy to be donated to the Hospital for Sick Children.
It runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Peach King Centre, and in addition to the free skate, visitors can enjoy cake and hot chocolate, enter draws, raffles, and a 50/50, and check out vendors that will be in attendance.
The free skate will be followed up by a blood donor clinic in honour of Nate at the Livingston Activity Centre on Dec. 14 from 2 to 7 p.m.
